Running Goals
My goal today for my 4 mile run was to keep a consistent pace. This went better then last week, but still not as consistent as I would like. Any suggestions fellow runners?

Eating Healthy or Trying To!
Over the last 6 months I have made a conscience effort to cut down the amount of added sugar and processed foods that I eat. The initial step I took to do this was to analyze my breakfast and lunch choices. Here are two recipes that have become invaluable to me in this process.
Found at Iowa Girl Eats:
Crock Pot Sweet Potato and Quinoa Turkey Chili: I left out the turkey and substituted black beans for the baked beans. I also found that it is yummy with homemade guacamole in it! It makes 10 nice sized servings.

Found at two peas & their pod:
Baked Peanut Butter Apple Oatmeal: I substituted mashed banana for the brown sugar and left out the applesauce. I also cut back the peanut butter to 1/4 of a cup. It makes 8 nice sized servings.
Enjoy! Feel free to share your go to healthy recipes!
Teaching: State Assessments
Tomorrow we begin taking our state assessments. We will test for roughly 2 hours Monday-Thursday. So I have been searching the web to find a way to help pump up my students. I found two ideas I like and decided to combine the two.
The first one, treats with cute sayings, I found here and here:
Life's Like This
twobusybrunettes
The second one, "The Test Fairy", I found here:
The Polka-dotted Teahcer
Now to combine the 2 ideas. I will place the treats on their desk each day prior to their arrival. I will write a message from "The Test Fairy" that includes the cute saying on the whiteboard.
Check back each day this week to see what "The Test Fairy" has to say!
